Guatemala is a crazy, wild ride, be prepared to adventure and fun, like a crazy silks drop, you never know which way its going to take you, the only way to embrace it is to trust, let go and go with the flow!

 

Daily aerial silks classes will be held on the famous Eagle’s Nest open air platform that sits perched above Mayan village of barrios 2 San Marcos La Laguna. 

It is an immersive experience simply to be on the platform, contemplating and feeling Lake Atitlán, its energies, its volcanoes, its awe inspiring and breathtaking panoramic view that touches the very depths of your soul. 

 

On top of daily aerial silks classes you will have access to the weekly offerings which include Morning and Sunset Yoga, Hula hoop workshops, ecstatic dance, to name a few…The space is dynamic and offers a variety of events throughout the week. 

You will also be use the traditional sauna (locally called “Temascal”) twice during the retreat. The sauna design is custom made and has been inspired by world travels and the Mayan sauna culture.

 

Daily Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are included, enjoy delicious, healthy and lovingly created meals, while soaking in one of the most beautiful views over San Marcos La Laguna at the scenic Eagle’s nest Restaurant and Cafe..

 

Featuring Eco-Lodging, the accommodation has been built on the foundations of local building techniques, weaving in nature into the space & bringing this into harmony with the artistic elements, the rooms are made simply, designed elegantly and with a loving attention to detail – rich colors, textures and lights with sweeping views over the lake and surrounds.

This is not a boot camp style retreat where we focus on leaning one trick after another, but rather sequences that flow beautifully together where you can bring out the dancer in you and perform your moves with flair, grace, style and confidence. 

 

We will be focusing on aerial choreography, act creation, stage performance techniques, musicality, floor to air and tips on how to connect with and captivate your audience. 

 

Classes will include sequences, locks, spins and drops (for those who are comfortable with drops) but most importantly, working on the important moments in between, like how to dance your wraps, create gorgeous lines and utilise every part of your body in your aerial movements, making the simplest of moves look impressive and using the fabric as an extension of your body and aerial moves. 

There will be fun and creative exercises that unleash your creative powers, working with your own unique style and flair, whether it is to help you create an aerial routine or to simply just feel more confident in the air. 

 

We will also be preparing you for your aerial shoot, giving you tips and techniques on how to get the most out of looking great in your photographs with effective sequences and poses that look striking.

 

This retreats is for all levels. Because it is focused on creativity, we will work with your own aerial repertoire. There are sequences to suit all levels. You do not need to be a dancer to join this retreat. This is a safe space of no judgement where we can really get creative, be inspired and have fun!

 

You will go home with a new found sense of confidence, adventures and memories that will last a lifetime, and some gorgeous professional photos of yourself showing off your new found aerial skills
