Gabriela Sissons is a world-renowned aerial silks artist who performs, competes, judges, and teaches workshops and retreats globally. With over 25 years of stage experience, she has been part of various dance companies in South Africa and performed worldwide, including in China, Taiwan, Russia, Thailand, the Maldives, India, and Ireland. Her strengths lie in her musically driven choreography and strong performance ability.
 

A multi-award-winning athlete, she has represented South Africa in international championships across China, Russia, Thailand, Italy, Dubai, and the Philippines, consistently placing in the top three. She first became a World Champion in 2015 at the International Championships in Hong Kong, won the Arnold Classics in South Africa in 2019, and secured two gold medals at the 2021 South African National Performance Art Championships.

She reclaimed the World Champion title in 2022 in Dubai and earned two golds at the 2023 World Dance Movement International Aerial Championships.

Most recently, she won first place in the aerial silks and hammock categories at the Pole and Aerial World Cup in Italy.

 

 A semi-finalist on South Africa’s Got Talent (2017), she continues to push the boundaries of aerial artistry.

Gabriela is the founder of Skydancer Retreats and the first Xpert-certified aerial instructor in Africa, leading workshops in South Africa, Russia, Italy, China, Switzerland, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, India, Thailand, and Ireland.

 

She has judged prestigious aerial competitions, including Airstars (China & Thailand) and APPA (Russia), and served as Head Judge at the 2022 Arnold Africa Classics. She was also the National Director of the Aerial Arts Performance Championships in South Africa.
